FO: Mark Gnomble

After I finished making Gnoma for myself, I let my family request their own gnomes. My husband, a West Ham fan since birth, requested a West Ham gnome. I took him to the yarn shop with me to pick out the best shades of claret and blue for this purpose. I also let him go through all of Imagined Landscapes gnome patterns to pick his favorite. He went for Choose Your Gnome Adventure, and asked for the large size in fingering weight.

Now, this was a much bigger gnome than I had made before, and I was starting to lose steam on it because it was taking so long. And then he came up with a name for it - Mark Gnomble - after the famous former West Ham player Mark Noble. Once he had such a fantastic name, I found the knitting went much faster. :-) Before I knew it, he was 15” tall!

Mark Gnomble is a claret and blue striped gnome sitting in front of a West Ham flag and a British soccer ball.

But… he had to be official since he had a name, so I also embroidered Gnomble and Mark Noble’s real number, 16, on the back. It was the perfect finishing touch.

My husband was thrilled with it. And then my 9-year-old daughter stole it for her room. Lol. They are currently sharing custody.

I thought today was the perfect day to share Mark Gnomble since West Ham are playing in the Europa Conference League semi-final today. Good luck, West Ham! May Mark Gnomble bring you an excellent result!
